The classic art of stop motion character animation has enjoyed a well deserved revival in the last few years. Films like Kubo and the Two Strings, ParaNorman, and Box Trolls offer a level of physicality that computer animated films cannot. In this workshop, students will learn the fundamentals such as storyboarding, composition, animation principles as well as how to design and create a character for stop motion animation. They will then work in small teams to bring their own stories to life by using traditional stop motion techniques.
