DigiPen Institute of Technology Singapore has established protocols to investigate student grievances and appeals for both undergraduate and graduate students. The student grievance and appeals process is in place to provide students with a fair and impartial way to resolve any grievances they may have about their academic experience at DigiPen (Singapore).

Concerns Over Academic Standing

Students who would like to file an appeal against a decision regarding their academic standing in a particular module should discuss the matter with their instructor. If a satisfactory resolution is unattainable, students may file an appeal with the Department Chair for that module. If the resultant solution is still unsatisfactory, then students may file an appeal with the Associate Dean. Students may appeal the final grades and review exams no later than two days after grade reports are released on IN4SIT. The Institute reserves the right to dispose of any examination papers after the appeal period. Academic records will be kept indefinitely.

If you have any questions about your grades, you may email the Registrar’s Office at registrar.sg@digipen.edu or refer to the grade appeals process.

Other Disputes

Students who experience dissatisfaction with a situation or event are advised to address the issue with the relevant parties or consult the Student Life and Advising Counselor by email at studentlife.sg@digipen.edu. It is recommended that all possible efforts be made to resolve the issue in a fair and timely manner at this stage.

If the issue persists, undergraduate students are encouraged to email SIT via Phase1Resolution@SingaporeTech.edu.sg and cc studentlife.sg@digipen.edu. For more information, undergraduate students may refer to the SIT Student Grievance Resolution Policy in the SIT Student Intranet.

Graduate students may submit a formal email to studentlife.sg@digipen.edu.

Appeals

Students who are not satisfied with the outcome of their grievance may appeal.

Undergraduate students may appeal to the SIT Student Grievance Appeals Committee by emailing Phase2Appeal@SingaporeTech.edu.sg.

Undergraduate students and graduate students may also file an appeal to the Chief Operating Officer — International. If the student is still dissatisfied with the decision, they may appeal to the President of the Institute. Eventually, the students may also submit their appeal to the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC).

If you have any questions, please contact the Student Life and Advising Office at studentlife.sg@digipen.edu.

Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges

Schools accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges must have a procedure and operational plan for handling student complaints. If a student does not feel that the school has adequately addressed a complaint or concern, the student may consider contacting the Accrediting Commission. All complaints reviewed by the Commission must be in written form and should grant permission for the Commission to forward a copy of the complaint to the school for a response. This can be accomplished by filing the ACCSC Complaint Form. The complainant(s) will be kept informed as to the status of the complaint as well as the final resolution by the Commission. Please direct all inquiries to:
